Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Oil & Gas experience in E&I construction, inspection, QA/QC, pre-commissioning, commissioning and/or maintenance.
- Valid CompEx Ex01–Ex04 certification – MANDATORY.
- Strong practical knowledge of hazardous-area electrical and instrumentation installations.
- Sound knowledge of ATEX / IECEx principles and Ex compliance requirements.
- Previous experience working in operating oilfields, brownfield facilities, process plants, degassing stations, CPF facilities or similar Oil & Gas environments is highly preferred.
- Previous experience with major Oil & Gas operators / EPC / EPCM contractors is highly preferred.
Required Technical Experience
Candidates should demonstrate strong practical experience in:
- E&I inspection and QA/QC activities.
- Hazardous-area equipment and installations.
- Ex d, Ex e, Ex i, Ex n and Ex p protection concepts.
- Cable installation, glanding and termination.
- Earthing and grounding systems.
- Transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS systems and control panels.
- Instrument installation, calibration and functional testing.
- Loop checking / loop testing.
- Continuity and insulation-resistance testing.
- Instrument configuration and troubleshooting.
- HART communication / field communicators.
- Fire & Gas systems.
- PLC / DCS / SCADA interfaces.
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Inspection of materials and installed E&I equipment.
QA/QC & Documentation Experience
The candidate should be capable of independently handling:
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Inspection/Test Records (ITRs).
- Requests for Inspection (RFIs).
- Method Statements (MOS).
- Material Receiving Inspections / MRRs.
- Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Punch-list identification, management and close-out.
- Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
- Wiring, loop and hazardous-area drawings.
- Test packs and inspection records.
- Mechanical Completion and system handover documentation.
- Coordination with Client / EPCM / QA/QC representatives during inspections and final acceptance.
Preferred Additional Experience
Experience in any of the following will be considered an advantage:
- System Completion / Mechanical Completion.
- Completion databases such as ICAPS / SCDB.
- OPERCOM or similar completion methodology.
- Brownfield and SIMOPS environments.
- Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Authorized Gas Tester (AGT).
- H₂S, First Aid, Fire Fighting, Confined Space and Working at Height training.
- IOSH / OSHA or equivalent HSE training.
- AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
